Jiri Lehecka

Jiri Lehecka is the son of a swimmer and a track athlete from Mlada Boleslav, and the genes show in a game built on clean, flat power: a heavy first serve and a baseline strike that takes the ball early and gives it back faster. A Wimbledon boys' doubles champion in 2019, he broke through at 21 by beating Felix Auger-Aliassime on the way to the 2023 Australian Open quarter-finals, and by May 2026 he had climbed to a career-high No. 12.

His 2 career titles came in successive Januaries, Adelaide in 2024 and Brisbane in 2025, either side of a back injury that forced him out of a Madrid semi-final and swallowed months of his season. He came back sharper: a US Open quarter-final and the Czech No. 1 spot in 2025, then a run to his first Masters 1000 final in Miami in 2026 without losing serve once, before Jannik Sinner stopped him. This summer he is back in the second week of a major at Wimbledon.

Fifteenth meeting, first on grass: Sinner and Zverev play for the Wimbledon title

Fourteen. That is how many times Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev have played each other, and not one of those matches was on grass. Sunday's Wimbledon final is the fifteenth and the first: Sinner, the defending champion, made it there by beating Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, and Zverev ended Arthur Fery's wildcard run 7-6(0), 6-2, 6-4 to reach his first Wimbledon final.
