On the men's side the heritage is towering. Rafael Nadal won 22 majors, 14 of them at Roland Garros, the most any player has won at a single Grand Slam. Carlos Alcaraz already holds 7 Grand Slam titles across all four surfaces. Sergi Bruguera took Roland Garros in 1993 and 1994, Juan Carlos Ferrero in 2003, Carlos Moya in 1998 and Manuel Orantes the 1975 US Open. David Ferrer reached the 2013 Roland Garros final.
The women's record is led by Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, a 4-time major champion who won Roland Garros three times and the 1994 US Open. Conchita Martinez became the first Spanish woman to win Wimbledon, in 1994. More recently Paula Badosa reached the 2025 Australian Open semi-finals.
