WTA rankings: Jovic up to a career-best 13 at 18

Thirteen. That is Iva Jovic's new career best at 18, three places up from 16 and the peak of a week that pushed a cluster of players up the WTA rankings. Peyton Stearns led them, 24 places from 60 to 36, while the top 10 did not shift at all.

Iva Jovic is 18, and her week in Guadalajara gave her a new career high. She climbs from 16 to 13, past the No. 14 she had held since the end of August, so 13 is now the best ranking of her career. The four wins that carried her to the title were the best stretch of her season.

The rest of the week's movement ran through the same two tournaments. Peyton Stearns, who came through qualifying and reached the Guadalajara final, made the biggest move of the group, 24 places from 60 to 36 and into the top 40. Cristina Bucsa climbed from 44 to 35 and Liudmila Samsonova from 50 to 37, and two more players crossed into the top 50, Magdalena Frech from 57 to 45 and Janice Tjen from 51 to 46. Katerina Siniakova went the other way, from 35 to 53 and out of the top 50. Spain now has four players inside the top 100, up from three, Bucsa and Paula Badosa among them.

None of that touched the top 10, which stayed exactly as it was. Elena Rybakina remains No. 1, still clear of Aryna Sabalenka in second, and Marta Kostyuk holds at No. 10, matching the career best she reached only last week. The week's story sits just below that settled top 10, a career best for an 18-year-old and a cluster of players climbing behind her.
