ATP rankings: Van Assche, Halys and Hanfmann make the week's big moves

Thirty. That is how many places Luca Van Assche gained after winning the Estoril title, from No. 78 to a career-best No. 48 in the ATP rankings. He was one of two Frenchmen with a tour-level title this week: Quentin Halys won Kitzbuhel and rose 31 places to No. 52. Neither result stirred the top of the list, where Jannik Sinner stayed unmoved at No. 1.

Luca Van Assche won the Estoril title, coming through a bracket that included a quarter-final win over Andrey Rublev and a semi-final against Hugo Gaston before a three-set final win over Alexander Blockx. At 22, the win lifts the Frenchman 30 places, from No. 78 to No. 48, his best ranking, above the No. 63 he reached in October 2023.

Quentin Halys won Kitzbuhel the same week, climbing 31 places to No. 52 at 29; his career high of No. 46, from June 2025, remains just out of reach. Yannick Hanfmann, beaten by Halys in the Kitzbuhel semi-final, rose seven places to No. 45, matching the career high he first reached in July 2023 and stepping back into the top 50. Francisco Cerundolo moved into the top 20, up two places to No. 20. France now counts eleven players in the top 100, up from ten a week ago, with Van Assche's climb doing most of the work. Corentin Moutet fell the other way, out of the top 50 to No. 57, and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina dropped out of the top 20 to No. 25.

At the top of the list, barely anything moved. Jannik Sinner remained at No. 1 with a lead of 4,970 points over Alexander Zverev at No. 2, having not added to his points tally this week. The only real change in the top ten was Novak Djokovic's rise from No. 7 to No. 5; Alex De Minaur slipped one place to No. 6, Daniil Medvedev rose one to No. 7 and Ben Shelton dropped two to No. 8 in the shuffle, while Carlos Alcaraz, Felix Auger Aliassime, Flavio Cobolli and Taylor Fritz all held their places.
