ATP rankings: Fils up to a career-best 11 as Cincinnati reshapes the top 20

Eleven. That is where Arthur Fils sits in the ATP rankings now, one place outside the world's top ten, after a run to the Cincinnati title carried the 22 year old up from No. 21 and into the top 20. It is a career best for Fils, and it makes him the only Frenchman in that group.

Fils won the Masters title in Cincinnati to climb ten places from No. 21 to No. 11 and into the top 20. He had never been ranked higher than No. 14, a mark set in April 2025; No. 11 is now his best ranking. He is joined in the reshuffle by Frances Tiafoe, who reached the Cincinnati final and rose from 23 to 12, and Brandon Nakashima, a Cincinnati semi-finalist who moved from 22 to 17; both are into the top 20 as well. Tiafoe, 28, sits two places short of the No. 10 he has already reached, while Nakashima's own career high had been set only the week before, at No. 22; No. 17 pushes it higher still.

Elsewhere the movement ran three levels down. Luca Van Assche, 22, won the Quebec City Challenger to climb from 54 to a career-best No. 40, and Hubert Hurkacz, a former world No. 6, rose 23 places from 69 to 46 to return to the top 50 after winning the Cancun 2 Challenger. Roman Safiullin, Jesper De Jong and Jacob Fearnley all moved into the top 100, at 98, 99 and 100. The week's heaviest fall belonged to Terence Atmane, who dropped 45 places from 45 to 90; Jaume Munar and Stefanos Tsitsipas also slipped out of the top 50, to 55 and 53. The reshuffle at the top of the table pushed Andrey Rublev, Valentin Vacherot and Luciano Darderi out of the top 20, and the United States now has five men in that group, up from three, while Italy has fallen from four to three and Russia from two to one.

At the very top, nothing moved. Jannik Sinner, 25, remains No. 1 without playing a match this week, a ranking he equals rather than improves after 68 weeks at the summit, and his lead over the No. 2 spot stands at 5,010 points. Below him the top ten reshuffled itself: Alexander Zverev overtook Carlos Alcaraz for second, Flavio Cobolli jumped from 10 to 6, and Ben Shelton dropped from 6 to 9 as Daniil Medvedev, Alex De Minaur and Taylor Fritz filled in around him at 8, 7 and 10.
