ATP rankings: Buse into the top 30 at 22

Thirty. That is the new career-high ranking for Ignacio Buse, up from 36, the top-30 arrival that defines an otherwise quiet US Open opening week on the ATP rankings, one in which the top 10 did not move by a single place.

Ignacio Buse won Winston-Salem, and the ranking follows the title. The 22-year-old beat Adam Walton, Daniel Altmaier, Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Benjamin Bonzi across four rounds, then closed it out against Arthur Fery in the final, 6-3, 6-2. The result lifts Buse from 36 to 30, a new career best and his first time inside the top 30.

The same week reshaped the ranks around him. Arthur Fery, beaten by Buse in the Winston-Salem final, still climbs to a career-high 33 from 37. Juan Manuel Cerundolo, who lost to Buse in the quarter-finals, moves into the top 50, up from 51 to 45. Benjamin Bonzi, beaten by Buse in the semi-finals, enters the top 100 at 97, up from 109. The four men who had sat at 32 to 35 a week ago were each passed rather than beaten, dropping two places apiece without losing a point. France's count in the top 100 ticks up from 11 to 12.

None of that reached the top of the list. Every place in the top 10 is unchanged in US Open opening week, Jannik Sinner idle at No. 1, a ranking he has now held equal to his own best run, with a lead over second place of 5,010 points.
