WTA rankings: Parry into the top 50 as the leaders hold station

Fifty. That is Diane Parry's new ranking, the French 23-year-old up 16 places from No. 66 to break into the top 50. The top four held station this week; Aryna Sabalenka held No. 1 without a deep run of her own, so the story sits lower down the list, with Xiyu Wang making the week's biggest jump, up 26 places to No. 82.

Diane Parry's climb from No. 66 to No. 50 in the WTA rankings puts the Frenchwoman, 23, into the top 50, two places shy of her career high of 48. Anhelina Kalinina moved into the top 50 too, from 51 to 49. The bigger raw jump this week belongs to Xiyu Wang, the 25-year-old Chinese player up 26 places, from No. 108 to No. 82, back into the top 100.

Further down the list, Katie Boulter rose from 71 to 60, Elena Gabriela Ruse from 74 to 63, and Daria Kasatkina from 68 to 59. Alina Korneeva, 19, moved from 75 to 67, a career best. Anna Blinkova climbed 17 places, from 111 to 94, into the top 100, still well short of her own career high of 35. Two more players cracked the top 100: Mananchaya Sawangkaew, up from 105 to 97, and Taylah Preston, 20, up from 101 to 100, each a career best. The week's heaviest fall belonged to Alycia Parks, down 26 places from 63 to 89.

At the top nothing changed in rank, though plenty happened on court. Aryna Sabalenka stayed at No. 1, a place she has now held for 101 weeks since September 2023, matching her own mark there rather than setting a new one, and still leads No. 2 by 434 points despite an early exit at Cincinnati, the tournament Coco Gauff won without moving from No. 4. The top four held in place. Below them the top 10 reshuffled: Mirra Andreeva rose from 6 to 5 and Linda Noskova from 8 to 6, while Iga Swiatek slid from 5 to 8.
