Grass season

Fritz and De Minaur, one win from another grass title

Seven. That is how many tour-level grass titles Taylor Fritz and Alex De Minaur already own between them, and on Sunday both are back in a grass final, one win from another.

Fritz holds 5 of those 7, De Minaur the other 2. Both are the 2 seed at their event. Fritz reached the Boss Open final in Stuttgart; De Minaur reached the Libema Open final in Rosmalen. Each has won a grass title within the last two seasons.

Fritz has made the grass swing his season. His 5 grass titles are one in Stuttgart, where he beat Alexander Zverev 6-3 7-6(0) in the 2025 final, and four at Eastbourne. He is defending the Stuttgart title now, and the only man between him and a sixth grass title is Ben Shelton.

De Minaur is back in the Rosmalen final he won in 2024, when he beat Sebastian Korda 6-2 6-4. That title and a 2021 Eastbourne final won over Lorenzo Sonego, 4-6 6-4 7-6(5), make up his 2. This time the unseeded Kamil Majchrzak stands between him and a third.

Two finals, the same weekend, two players who already know what this surface gives back. Fritz goes for a sixth grass title, De Minaur for a third.
