Slovenian tennis, a short history
1 Grand Slam title sits at the top of the women's story. Mima Jausovec won Roland Garros in 1977 and reached two more Paris finals, in 1978 and 1983, climbing to world No. 6 in 1982 and finishing with 7 tour-level titles. Tamara Zidansek is the modern echo, a Roland Garros semi-finalist in 2021 who reached No. 22 in the world. Katarina Srebotnik added 4 singles titles and Polona Hercog 3, with single titles for Tina Pisnik and Maja Matevzic.
The men's tour is still waiting for its first standout chapter. No Slovenian man has reached a Grand Slam final.
