Lithuanian tennis, a short history
No. 50 is the highest any Lithuanian has reached, a mark Ricardas Berankis set in 2016. He arrived early, taking the 2007 US Open boys' title and finishing the year as junior world No. 1, but his long career ran mostly at Challenger level, with 15 titles in the archive and both his tour finals, at Los Angeles in 2012 and the Kremlin Cup in 2017, lost; he retired in 2025. Vilius Gaubas, born in 2004, has since climbed to a career-high No. 101 and beaten Denis Shapovalov to reach the third round of the 2025 Italian Open, the first Lithuanian man that far at a Masters 1000.
The women's record is thin. Justina Mikulskyte is the highest-ranked Lithuanian woman in the archive at world No. 198 in 2025, and no Lithuanian woman has won a WTA Tour title.
Titles and records run from 1968, the start of the Open era.
