Kazakh tennis, a short history
On the men's side, Alexander Bublik is the standard-bearer with 9 tour titles, and in January 2026 he became the first Kazakh man to crack the ATP top 10. He has no Grand Slam to show yet, and neither do the earlier names: Mikhail Kukushkin and Andrey Golubev each won 1 tour title, the first wins of the country's professional era.
The women carry the trophies. Elena Rybakina has 2 Grand Slam titles, Wimbledon in 2022 and the Australian Open in 2026, plus a 2023 Melbourne final, and her 2022 run made her the first Kazakh player to win a major. Behind her, Yulia Putintseva has 3 tour titles, Zarina Diyas 2, and Yaroslava Shvedova 1.
Titles and records run from 1968, the start of the Open era.
